SPOTTED: Abel Tesfaye (a.k.a. The Weeknd) at Goodnight Gansevoort

The rise of the post-Drake R&B sensation The Weeknd has been pretty meteoric, so we weren’t too surprised to see him in the wee hours at the after-party for The Oranges at Goodnight Gansevoort, trying to be a celebrity like all the other boldface names in attendance (Jon Hamm, Allison Janney) but not entirely sure how. He came in (with a small entourage) and sat down, staring into space with studied detachment for about 20 minutes before getting a drink. It’s tough being a star.
