Serious actress Miley Cyrus will co-host and perform at the MuchMusic Video Awards

MuchMusic announced today that Miley Cyrus will be both co-hosting and performing at the 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards on June 20. It’s a surprising choice considering the 17-year-old recently announced that she’s leaving the music biz behind in order to focus on a more “serious” career in movies. She’s the star of the not so critically acclaimed epic The Last Song, and according to IMDB, she’s set to appear in other probably serious films, like Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and LOL: Laughing Out Loud.
