Suicide Squad hits theatres next week. To get us psyched up to see the psychotic supervillains, the team behind the Toronto-shot movie set up a fan experience centre. They’ve transformed the Distillery District’s fermenting cellar into a wing of Belle Reve Penitentiary (for the uninitiated, that’s a prison in the DC Universe), complete with cells, murals and props from the movie. It’s open to the public Wednesday and Thursday. We took a tour of the place on Tuesday, when director David Ayer and stars Will Smith (Deadshot) and Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) popped in to chat, talk some selfies and cut some ribbons.

Smith plays Deadshot, an aptly named expert-marksman-slash-loving-father.

Margot Robbie is Harley Quinn, a baseball bat–wielding former psychiatrist who has a deranged relationship with the Joker (Jared Leto).

Here’s director David Ayer, whose previous film was the gloriously gory Brad Pitt tankathon Fury. (And, yup, that’s John Tory he’s glaring at.)

Because no event is complete without a pair of giant scissors and a designated hashtag.

Obligatory selfies all around.

Monocle’s energy beam–shooting eyepiece and Captain Boomerang’s, um, boomerang, were among the props on display.

Here’s Harley Quinn’s iconic baseball bat and the Joker’s cane.

Here’s a closer look inside the cell—about the same size as a standard Toronto condo.
