Canadian media personality Rick Campanelli—who some of us fondly recall by his MuchMusic moniker, Rick the Temp—has announced the release of an upcoming memoir. It’s being described by his publisher as “a bombshell.”
Called Tempted, the book is “a story of accomplishments and living life to the fullest but not without mistakes along the way” and “a cautionary tale of what can happen when you lose control,” according to publisher HarperCollins.

It’s set to come out this September.
“Though nothing came my way without a great deal of hard work, I’ve been incredibly fortunate in my life,” Campanelli said in a description of Tempted. “Being a mostly open book in the public eye for over 30 years, people think they know me pretty well, but it’s time for me to shed light on a few deep dark secrets that will shock many. This is my full story, flaws and all.”
Campanelli started his career as a MuchMusic VJ in 1994, before becoming the host of ET Canada. He currently works as a reporter on Breakfast Television.
HarperCollins says Tempted will detail the “secret demons” Campanelli battled, “that nearly destroyed his life.”
