John Lithgow nominated for Emmy, whines about being in Canada
John Lithgow is in B.C. right now filming his next movie, Rise of the Apes, a prequel to Planet of the Apes, but he’d rather be partying back home than working in the Great White North. After receiving an Emmy nomination today for his performance in the TV thriller Dexter, Lithgow confessed his disappointment to the L.A. Times for having to work with no play in Canada. “I’m afraid I have to celebrate by going to work in about an hour,” he said, “…with a bunch of Canadians who probably don’t even know what an Emmy is, or even care.”

Really? Does he live under a rock? How ignorant does someone have to be? We don’t know what the Emmy’s are? Does he have any idea how many fans he has in Canada. oooh that gets under my skin….
I am so disappointed in Mr Lithgow comments, I thought his performance in Dexter was fantasic, and I was so hoping that he would be nominated for an emmy. So you see we do know what an Emmy is.
Who’s Emmy?
I think perhaps Mr. Lithgow was speaking in jest.
Those poor Canadians – not caring about the really important things in life. It’s surprising that Lithgow hasn’t been on the front pages all week considering his all important Nobel Prize worthy work of making a movie about apes taking over the planet.
