Mirvish’s Honeymoon in Vegas production has been postponed, but Anything Goes will take its place

Attention prospective 2012–13 season theatre-goers: Honeymoon in Vegas has been postponed due to scheduling mishaps, but replacing it is Kathleen Marshall’s Tony Award–winning Anything Goes. The 2011 revival of the Cole Porter–penned musical is directed and choreographed by Marshall and stars Rachel York as Reno Sweeney, the evangelist turned nightclub singer. Set on a ship and featuring many a cameo by tap-dancing sailors, Anything Goes is no doubt ambitious. But York, having sung her way through roles such as Les Miserables’ Fantine and The 101 Dalmatians musical’s Cruella de Vil, ought to do just fine. Runs from July 16 to August 18. [Playbill]
