We’ve heard about demanding riders before, but for a simple meet-and-greet with Glee’s Matthew Morrison (which will take place on May 30 at 4 p.m. at the Eaton Centre’s HMV), it seems Toronto “gleeks” will encounter a lot of celebrity-sanctioned red tape. Only 300 fans—all of whom are required to buy Morrison’s album before receiving an entry pass—will receive the meet-and-greet treatment, but make no mistake: this term is being used very loosely. Each fan will be permitted one autograph (make it count!), and all photographs being uploaded to Facebook on May 31 will be of Morrison sitting behind a fold-out table, as there will be no stand-and-pose photography permitted. According to HMV Canada, the event could be cancelled without notice, so anyone willing to attend this non-spectacle will be separating themselves from those passive, musical-minded folks who occasionally laugh at Jane Lynch’s comedy. Those not interested in paying $20 to meet someone will likely find shorter lines for Morrison’s interviewer, Rick Campanelli.
