Leave it to K-Os to make a hockey-themed rap video. This latest installation by the T-Dot R&B extraordinaire—titled “Zambony” [sic]—is so quintessentially Canadian it rivals a Molson commercial. The ride? A Zamboni, natch. The impervious bodyguard? Hayden Christensen (William Shatner might have been a more gangsta choice, but this is Toronto). And the pensive, smouldering protagonist? A young Eric Lindros look-alike practising solo in a dark arena. It’s a catchy, dark tune, but we were so distracted waiting for Nelly Furtado’s cameo we had to watch it twice.
