The premiere of The Eye of the Storm at the Winter Garden Theatre yesterday afternoon was a relatively subdued affair compared with some of the pandemonium-inducing galas from earlier this weekend. Charlotte Rampling’s outfit left us confused (was it two dresses or a dress and a turtleneck? Hard to say). Director Fred Schepisi dressed casually—he didn’t sport a tie, but he was decked out in a fedora—and Geoffrey Rush’s posture is just as bad in real life as it is on film. Alexandra Schepisi (yes, she’s in the film, and yes, she’s Fred’s daughter) brought a splash of colour to the otherwise restrained proceedings. But hey, since when is a little dignity a bad thing? See our photo gallery, after the jump.
