David and Brandon Cronenberg to debut films at Cannes Film Festival

The Cannes Film Festival, which draws some of the world’s biggest names in filmmaking (make no mistake, TIFF is pretty darn splashy), has announced that both David and Brandon Cronenberg will be competing for awards this year. Brandon’s debut, Antiviral, will be up for the Un Certain Regard award, a designation for young and innovative directors, while David’s Cosmopolis, starring Twilight’s Robert Pattinson and rising star Sarah Gadon, is up for the prestigious Palme d’Or award, competing against the likes of Ken Loach (The Wind That Shakes the Barley), Wes Anderson (A Life Aquatic) and more. Are David and Brandon Cronenberg set to be the next Francis Ford and Sofia Coppola?
