Zane Caplansky returns to Dragons’ Den—yet again—on Sunday

Zane Caplansky is appearing on Dragon’s Den for a third time. The white-hatted owner of Caplansky’s Deli first appeared on the CBC start-up show in 2011, when he asked for $350,000 to launch a fleet of food trucks. The Dragons didn’t bite, but that didn’t stop him from setting Thundering Thelma loose on the streets. Caplansky was then featured on a “where are they now” episode of the show last February, where he showed off his new (and pretty successful) wheels. Now, fresh off a taping of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, the inveterate promoter is going for the Dragon hat trick: on Sunday at 8 p.m., he’ll appear on the “Second Chance” episode to ask for $360,000 in exchange for 18 per cent of his business. Even if the Dragons turn him down again, Caplansky still stands to gain: as he notes on his blog, his deli “will be nuts for about a month—at least” after the show airs. [Caplansky’s]
