The director went to a religious school and was going to pursue the priesthood, he divulged to George Stroumboulopoulos, until “fun things” like “music, cigarettes, girls, cars, drugs” got in the way. And thank the film gods for that, because without him we’d have no Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire or 127 Hours. Strombo’s full interview with Danny Boyle will air tonight on CBC.
