The Gospel Christmas Project has become something of a tradition since Andrew Craig, the Toronto-based host of CBC’s Canada Live, first launched the concert as a radio show in 2006, and he’s back again tickling the ivories, directing and singing again this year. The Young Centre for the Performing Arts—the project’s current home—has just announced this year’s soloists, including jazz icon Jackie Richardson, Alana Bridgewater, Juno- and Gemini-nominated Kellylee Evans, Chris Lowe and Toya Alexis, alongside Juno-winning ensemble Sharon Riley and Faith Chorale. We’ve heard people say that Toronto has no soul, but the show consistently sells out—we recommend picking up tickets for December 17 and 18 early.
