10x10’s annual queer photo exhibition, in partnership with the People Project, has quickly become one of the most popular, and one of the sweatiest, kickoff events on the Thursday night before Pride weekend. Last week at the Gladstone Hotel, photographers R Kelly Clipperton, Adamo de Pax, Guntar Kravis, Sue Lloyd, JJ Levine, John Monteith, Renee Navarro, Alex Nursall, Allyson Scott and Sonja Scharf debuted 10 portraits each of fascinating queer subjects. Guests like artist Grant Heaps, DJ Max Mohenu, MTV’s Ron Ruiz, curator, coordinator and artist James Fowler, fashion designers David Dixon and Sunny Fong and more flooded the narrow thoroughfares to show support for the burgeoning art party. Not to be outdone by last year’s Total Recall–inspired guest, performance artist Keith Cole showed up in a disheveled drag getup and was spotted getting very friendly with his fans. The exhibition runs until July 15.
