Ubisoft announces its first-ever Toronto-made video game

Ubisoft announced at Microsoft’s E3 news conference that Splinter Cell: Blacklist is the first title coming from its Toronto office. The company opened a Toronto office after being enticed by $230 million in tax incentives and credits, and Ubisoft says it plans to hire a staff of 800—there are currently 230 on staff. The Big Smoke isn’t quite Silicon Valley, but Toronto now has at least one video game under its belt, and Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a pretty good start. [Toronto Star]
