Toronto’s trees may have some actual monetary value

—The estimated value of Toronto’s tree canopy, according to a new report by TD Economics. Researchers arrived at that figure by calculating what it would cost to replace each of the city’s approximately ten million leafy residents (that’s about $700 per tree). The report also points out about $81 million worth of annual benefits associated with trees, including boosts to property values and air quality.
