The Blue Dragon Visual wizard Robert Lepage dips into his bag of tricks yet again for this sequel to his 1985 show The Dragons’ Trilogy. His lighting, video and set pieces dazzle, but it’s all just window dressing for a simple story about a middle-aged Québécois gallery owner living in a rapidly changing China, his young artist lover and the ex who comes to Shanghai in the hopes of adopting a baby.
