Toronto Public Health’s WorldPride–themed condoms are things of beauty. Unfortunately, according to the Star, there’s one thing the city failed to reckon with before it went ahead and ordered up a batch of them: sponsorship agreements. Unbeknownst to the public, Pride Toronto inked a deal with the makers of Trojan-brand condoms, giving the company exclusive handout rights at the Pride parade and other official Pride events. As a result, the city’s condoms will be available only in a handful of private venues along the Church-Wellesley strip for the duration of the 10-day event (already underway). True condom aficionados will doubtless seek them out.
