Gas: $150 a month. “I used to pay up to $800 a month when I lived in Markham and had to drive downtown. So the gas savings almost cover the rent increase.”

Groceries: $150 a month. “I prefer to dine out and don’t cook a lot. But, when I shop, I go to Whole Foods, No Frills and Sobeys—and wherever I can find Yerba Mate, kombucha and Poppi-brand soda. I have a bit of a sweet tooth.”

Restaurants and takeout: $1,150 a month. “Pai is my favourite spot, and it’s just around the corner from my condo.”

Hans Zimmer live: $500. “I want to make films that are equal in quality to Zimmer’s music. I left the show knowing I had work to do but inspired.”

Le Labo Santal 33: $400. “It’s supposed to be unisex, but I’ve been getting compliments only from dudes, so I probably won’t buy it again. Having said that, I did discover the fragrance after complimenting a dude for wearing it.”
