A trio of Canadian baseball fans have earned international admiration for consuming what looks like dozens of beers at a World Baseball Classic game in Puerto Rico.
“Did you see the number of beers this group finished?” said co-host of the Talkin’ Baseball podcast, Chris Rose.
Trevor Plouffe, the show’s other co-host, was equally in awe. “Those are some Canadians right there.”

In the clip now circulating on social media, the fans’ abundance of thoughtfully organized empties are seen lined up on the ledge in front of them during Canada’s 7-2 win. Do we generally encourage the overconsumption of alcohol? No. Should these men be applauded for remaining seated and well-behaved after drinking excessively in the sun all day? Yes, and we salute their good etiquette.
“That…is very impressive work,” says a Fox broadcaster, as a fan in a Blue Jays bucket hat raises a can for the camera.
For the very first time, Canada’s national baseball team has advanced to the series quarterfinal. They’ll play Team USA tonight.
Whatever the outcome, we hope this jovial beer-guzzling gang will be at the Jays’ home opener later this month.
