When we arrived at council yesterday to see Mayor Rob Ford wearing a football jersey, our first thought was that he’d rushed to city hall from somewhere more important. Thankfully, the Globe and Mail cleared things up. Apparently, Ford’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats jersey, which featured his last name on the back, was actually part of a friendly wager with Hamilton mayor Bob Bratina. The two men had agreed that the mayor of the losing city in the three-game series between the Ti-Cats and Toronto Argonauts would wear the other team’s jersey at city council. Ford kept his word after Hamilton beat Toronto on October 1. Fortunately for Ford, the Don Bosco Eagles are still number one in the city and our hearts. Read the entire story [Globe and Mail] »
