A wily Rob Ford finds the upside of being sued

Asked yesterday about Clayton Ruby’s push to have him thrown out of office, Rob Ford demonstrated some shrewd thinking, refusing to talk about the case itself but taking the opportunity to plug his football foundation. “All I know is my foundation has helped thousands of kids get an education, get ’em off the streets, and I’m going to continue doing what I’m doing,” Ford told the Toronto Sun. Here’s a crazy thought: this conflict-of-interest brouhaha, which all started with Ford refusing to repay donations from lobbyists, could end up just helping him do a little public fundraising.
