Did Rob Ford use a fake name to call a talk radio show last night?

A few hours after Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair confirmed the existence of the Rob Ford crack video, an irate fellow going by the name “Ian” called in to AM640 host Bill Carroll’s show to stand up for the mayor. Based on the caller’s cadence and phrasing, Carroll is convinced that “Ian from Etobicoke” is actually Ford himself, trying to disguise his voice. A competing theory comes courtesy of a Twitter contingent who believe it’s Ford’s big brother Randy. Listen for yourself and let us know what you think in the poll below.

    P.S. He has been charged with crimes that should have kept him out of office, DUI, possession, etc. He’s an embarrassment to Toronto, Canada, and, supposing substance abuse isn’t 100% genetic, the rest of his surviving family.

  21. I’m no Rob Ford fan, but to be fair it may not have been crack he was smoking….. it may have been weed for example. Do crackheads usually have Ford’s physique?….or are potheads with the munchies more likely to have Ford’s physique? He just doesn’t look like a crackhead to me…. although he often acts like one!

As I’ve said NUMEROUS times to these people making excuses for Ford, someone would have to smoke crack regularly for an extended time before it would make someone lose a significant amount of weight. He may have only done it once, but smoking crack is hardly the worst thing he’s done. Read some information online… that’s it, you know how to Google it.

  30. It’s no longer whether or not he smokes crack. That he was using counter-surveillance techniques to avoid the police means he was trying pretty hard to hide something from the police, don’t ya think?

  34. I’m saying it. How bad does your judgement have to be to be smoking up with gang members? That isn’t the act of an occasional user, but someone who is pretty familiar with the act. Also, after the whole story broke in the spring, a non addict would simply have stopped, knowing that getting caught again would be political suicide, instead Ford was arranging all kinds of surreptitious meetings with his dealer, even going with a baby in the car.
