QUOTED: Rob Ford on what happens when he and Stephen Harper go fishing

I stand up in the boat all the time. He says, ‘Sit down.’ I say, ‘No, no.’ I stand up, I cast, you know, I get right into it.

Rob Ford, on how much he likes what’s becoming his annual fishing trip with Stephen Harper, the most recent of which took place on Monday at Harrington Lake, the prime minister’s country retreat. On Newstalk 1010 yesterday, Ford waxed poetic about catching (and releasing) bass, and also speculated on Harper’s level of enjoyment, saying, “I don’t think he’s into it as much as I am.” The pair apparently didn’t just talk about piscatorial matters. The mayor said he and Harper also discussed the GTA’s 11 new federal ridings and Ford’s longstanding desire to halve the number of seats on city council. [Toronto Sun]
