Rob Ford looks to contract out more city jobs; Doug Holyday finds out from the newspaper

Mayor Rob Ford is continuing his quest to build a city where the private sector cleans your streets, cuts your grass and (presumably) fluffs your pillows. Today, the Star reports that the city told CUPE Local 416 president Mark Ferguson it will contract out road maintenance and grass-cutting jobs currently done by city workers. Strangely, Deputy Mayor Doug Holyday didn’t know about the notice, and it sounds like he heard about it from the Star’s reporter—you know, just the kind of transparent government Ford championed while on the campaign trail.
