Rob Ford and brother Doug now have their own talk radio show (seriously)

We already knew that Rob Ford prefers to do even the smallest of jobs himself, like, say, moving a pile of sand. Now, it appears the mayor and his brother are applying that approach to city media as well: this morning, they were announced as the new hosts of NewsTalk 1010’s The City, a Sunday afternoon radio show previously hosted by councillor Josh Matlow. Rob and Doug will now be free to broadcast their message without those pesky news reporters interfering (according to Councillor Ford, “You aren’t gonna have the media twisting it around like they’ve constantly twisted it around for the last year and a half”). Meanwhile, we suspect Matlow will take solace in knowing that while he may no longer have his own talk show, at least his voice is still being heard at city hall. Hopefully the lines are flood with callers asking the tough questions which so far the Fords have avoided answering.
Someone better ask Los Bros Ford about Network 2011, the TTC plan from 1985 to build three subway lines – Eglington, Sheppard and the Downtown Relief Line – by 2011. This was killed by his buddy, pal, Mike Harris in the Naughty 90s.
