QUOTED: AM640’s Bill Carroll on why he doesn’t want to talk to Doug or Rob Ford anymore

“I no longer care. I mean, that’s where I’ve got to. I don’t care. I don’t want to speak to Doug Ford, I don’t want to speak to Rob Ford—there is no point. It’s like a freakin’ stuck record now, this situation…I’m fed up with it. I’m tired of the non-answers.”
—Bill Carroll, AM640 talk show host, after being informed that Doug Ford was calling the station asking to be interviewed on air. “Here’s the process that you go through when you host a talk show,” Carroll said yesterday evening on his drive-time show. “What am I going to ask [Doug Ford]? I can think of half a dozen questions, but they’ve already been asked. I already know in advance what the answers are going to be…These allegations are not even against Doug Ford, so why is it relevant to me?”
The de-enabling has finally begun. Well done, Bill.
This is the monster you created, right-wing.
Exactly. There is zero point in giving DoFo or Rofo one more iota of airtime.
I don’t think there is any other way to end this circus unless we all turn our backs on it!
And I mean literally! If Mayor Ford will not step aside, and we can’t “fire” him, then the only thing we have left it to ignore them as irrelevant.
He won’t make that easy. He will continue to insert himself places where we feel helpless to take a stand… such as marching at the head of the Santa Claus parade, where we can’t protest because we’re with our children. The only thing left to us is to quietly turn our back until he goes away. I guess you’d call it “civil disobedience” for lack of a better term. It’s the Canadian thing to do – polite, quiet, but very effective.
Wrong. This is the “monster” the left-wing created.
Both of you are wrong. The monster was created by the Ford family. It was unleashed on Toronto by a bunch of voters who didn’t pay attention and/or didn’t care that they were electing a monster because “democracy” has become just another shopping trip to Walmart . . .
So True!
You’re both wrong. This left vs right, us vs them attitude is creating the monsters. When one group votes for somebody purely because they represent the antithesis of the other group, not because they’re the best person qualified, that’s when we end up in a mess like this. This attitude isn’t Canadian, and it’s killing our country, and politics in general.
Agreed – passive resistance, a great and classy idea.
If the “Canadian” attitude is pretending no side is ever any worse than the other side, then it’s time to shelve that attitude. Tea partiers who want to blow up the whole system, who disown any conservative who isn’t an extremist as red tory just because they listen to reason and are capable of being negotiated with, are worse than far leftists (who are all roaming the aisles of whole foods and none of whom vote).
The problem is, this “us vs. them” only-two-options system is the natural result of a first-past-the-post system.
Don’t blame Bill Carroll. They’re both a broken record now. How many times can you listen to the same nonsense over and over and over?
Ford has ZERO credibility left, we don’t hear you anymore Mr. Doug or Rob Ford!
Both Doug and Rob Ford are cashing in on behavior that’s sooo inappropriate, it’s beyond disgusting, Divosnote said it so well, let’s turn our backs on this circus and end it already…
Stop with the ‘right’ and ‘left’ stuff, the Ford family created this sicko, remember this when brother Doug pursues his political dreams…cash both these brothers out…stop the Ford dynasty…(emphasis on the ‘nasty’ part)
Burbus for PM
Poignant comment. It’s all about greed for them. What they do behind closed doors is no reflection of their phony political identity.
I definitely agree with that!
… yet after today Bill was singing the praises of Doug Ford. Do you vote for a guy you wont speak to? Context Bill, CONTEXT
