POLL: Who will Rob Ford pick as his next chief of staff?

Now that Rob Ford’s chief of staff Amir Remtulla has quit to take a gig with the Pan Am Games, sources say there are two main contenders to replace him: Ford’s policy advisor, Mark Towhey, and his former executive assistant Andrew Pask. According to the Toronto Star, Ford would like to hire Towhey, a libertarian and long-time Ford advisor, but Towhey has alienated councillors with his sharp manner (and evil ways). Pask may have an easier time reestablishing ties with council centrists, but he and Ford’s campaign architect Nick Kouvalis are sworn enemies—and Kouvalis said he may not be willing to lead Ford’s 2014 campaign if Pask is hired. Kouvalis was Ford’s chief of staff before Remtulla signed on, but both he and Doug Ford quashed rumours that he might return to his former position.
