Police were considering drug-possession charges against Rob Ford

now-what-newThanks to yet another batch of police search-warrant documents, unsealed earlier this morning by court order, it’s now clear that Toronto police were at one time considering laying drug-possession charges against Rob Ford. According to the Globe, the new documents say that police efforts to locate the second crack video, believed to have been filmed in the basement of the mayor’s sister Kathy Ford, were done with “evidence of…drug possession against Robert Ford” in mind. No charges have been laid, though, and it’s not clear whether Project Brazen 2 detectives are still pursuing that line of inquiry. The new documents contain other interesting details, like a summary of a police interview with Kathy during which she confirmed to investigators that she and Rob were smoking crack when the second video was recorded.
