Amex cardholders will get fast-tracked past the riffraff at Pearson airport security

This week, American Express announced a marketing partnership with Pearson airport that should make cardholders happy and other travellers bitter. The Amex elect will receive a bunch of new perks by the end of the year, including complimentary valet services, discounted parking and designated taxi and limousine lines (plus the usual access to swanky lounges for elite cardholders). More eyebrow-raising, a fast-track security lane is coming to all checkpoints in Terminals 1 and 3, which means some Amex holders will be saved the indignity of schlepping through long lines with the unwashed masses. To stem any uprisings, American Express is offering free sponsored Wi-Fi and vague-sounding “entertainment experiences” inside the terminals for all travellers, not just the Ellens and Kate Winslets of this world. [Toronto Star]
