VIDEO: Olivia Chow mock-debates Mark Critch on 22 Minutes

Between her recent “interview” (read: long-form ad) with campaign booster Warren Kinsella on Sun News and last night’s mock parry-and-thrust with comic Mark Critch on This Hour Has 22 Minutes, mayoral hopeful Olivia Chow has proven herself more than capable at handling softball questions in phony debates.

Calling Chow a “frontrunner” in the mayoral election, Critch “grilled” her with one simple, and maybe at one time unnecessary, question: “Are you on crack?” Chow ‘fessed to smoking pot as an arts and philosophy student, and attempted to make a case for aboveground transit as Critch yelled over her.

Chow handled the interview pretty gamely, making jokes about her own discomfort and playing up her image as a member of the terrifying Downtown Toronto Elite. (“What rest of Canada?” she asked Critch when pressed about the nation’s perceptions of Toronto. “Is there such a thing?”) Also: she appeared sleeveless, which as WORN Fashion Journal pointed out a while back, is pretty much her thing.

The segment is embedded above.
