Mike Del Grande jokes about millions of dollars just for a few LOLs

Last week, silver-tongued Mike Del Grande asked the executive committee to redirect $16.4 million in funding from Regent Park to another project. Naturally, councillors like Pam McConnell, the representative for Regent Park, were pissed. As the Toronto Sun reports, the lefties at city hall argued that the move was tantamount to firing a torpedo into Regent Park. And, according to Del Grande, therein lies the joke. That’s right—the joke. Apparently, the budget chief wanted to get council’s left riled up and “give them a taste of their own game playing.” He told NewsTalk 1010 this morning that “it was kind of humorous to see their heads explode.” Since Del Grande is such a barrel of laughs, we thought he might find this funny too: city staff will now be wasting taxpayer dollars preparing a report based on his fake request. So good to know that our BUDGET CHIER is so concerned about the use of “taxpayer” dollars that he’s willing to waste staff’s time so frivolously on game playing. Guess there really are no grownups at City Hall.
So, Ford Nation – still think your guy is all about respect for taxpayers?
What a baby that guy is. Grow up already and move on. Your budget was punitive and unacceptable. Changes were made. Good changes. Now suck it up and stop wasting everyone’s time and money.
Hey that’s taxpayer money that won’t go to social programs, transit expansion, etc. and that’s a Big Win for fiscal conservatives. The more money spent on do-nothing consultants and useless studies, the better, especially if the consultants are important businessmen and the studies conducted by conservative think tanks.
Plus, as a conservative, I find it funny when poor people think they have the rug pulled out from under them. LOL @ Regent park residents who have one more thing to worry about.
