Exciting alcohol news, everybody: before shutting down permanently so that a developer can have its way with its building, Jilly’s is going to be selling off its remaining drink stock at bargain prices. A sign that recently appeared outside the strip club is advertising $5.25 libations. Mel Osolky, who manages the hotel above the club, confirmed that managers for both the bar and the hotel are expecting July 13th to be their last day in business. The hotel’s tenants may be given a bit more time to find new housing.

The 123-year-old building’s new owner, Streetcar Developments, couldn’t be reached for comment. The company hasn’t said what it will be doing with its new acquisition, but it has seemingly ruled out the notion of a condo conversion. (Rumours of an east-end Drake Hotel expansion continue to swirl.)

Osolky wasn’t aware of any other farewell plans for Jilly’s, but $5.25 per drink, while not the cheapest, is pretty much a fire sale by strip-club standards.
