It’s official: NHL screwed up Prince of Wales trophy

We’d like to think the NHL’s Prince of Wales trophy isn’t engraved in Canada, because a Canuck should have caught that the Philadelphia Flyers won the Eastern Conference last season, and not the Washington Capitals as it’s listed on the hardware. Instead, Chicago Blackhawks fan Brendan Millhouser spotted the mistake when the trophy was in town on July 31. Millhouser posted over a dozen photos of the faulty trophy on Twitter, but in the age of Photoshop nobody believed him. Now, Millhouser has his vindication: after calling his photos a hoax, the Hockey Hall of Fame has admitted someone messed up. Well, at least it wasn’t the Stanley Cup.
