If elected, Mammoliti will propose 11 p.m. curfew for tweens

Following the brouhaha over bands dropping out of a Giorgio Mammoliti campaign concert, we decided to check out Mammoliti’s YouTube page to see what it was The Darcys and Make Your Exit objected to. The mayoral candidate has uploaded a handful of 30-second videos that lay out his various platforms, including this one promoting a curfew for kids under 14. Here’s a taste:

Do you know where your children are? I’m Giorgio Mammoliti, and I’m running for mayor. As mayor, I will enforce the law and won’t bow down to gangs. An 11 p.m. curfew on children under the age of 14 will help them keep safe and away from bad elements. With that, the Toronto police force needs the ability to take back our streets without political interference. Nothing good can come out of a child being on our streets at 3 a.m. Let them call me outrageous.

We’re not sure how well this will work, especially with the new Twilight movie coming out next year. Those Twihards would definitely break the law to catch the midnight screening of Eclipse. This whole idea is, dare we say, outrageous (both Twilight and the curfew).
