Giorgio Mammoliti resurrects one of Rob Ford’s campaign promises: cutting city council in half

Apparently, looking to waste a little bit more of everyone’s time, Giorgio Mammoliti says he’ll soon move to reduce the number of city councillors from 44 to 22. In other words, he plans to ask his colleagues to lay themselves off. If the idea sounds familiar, that’s because it is: a scrappy Etobicoke upstart councillor by the name of Rob Ford once proposed—no, insisted—that the city slice council in two (that campaign promise vanished, along with others).
