Ford against fornication!

Yesterday at city council, when a motion was brought forward regarding the City of Toronto’s support for Pride Week, Rob Ford (Ward 2 – Etobicoke North) stood up and said, “I don’t think this council should support sexuality.” The chamber erupted in laughter. He seemed to be the only person who didn’t realize what he had just said.

It’s fun to imagine taking him literally. Toronto could have sexuality police. Hey you, lovebirds: stop that kissing! You in the heels: cease being sexy! You, the middle aged guy with the touch of grey around the sides: two minutes for looking so good! The motion was approved by a vote of 37 to 2, and that was that. If this were Montreal, Ford would have been bound in rainbow flags and run out of town on a parade float.
