Doug Ford on Star reporter Jennifer Pagliaro: “I can’t stand that little bitch”
On Wednesday night, after a mayoral debate hosted by CTV, Doug Ford briefly shed his new nice-guy persona to share a candid thought about one of the Star’s city hall reporters. According to the Star, the incident happened following a post-debate scrum where reporter Jennifer Pagliaro had asked Ford a number of uncomfortable questions about his campaign donors and his brother’s behaviour. As Ford walked away, several photographers and a CTV producer overheard him muttering, “I can’t stand that little bitch.” Pagliaro isn’t the first reporter to be publicly disparaged by Doug Ford, but it’s rare that the candidate’s diction reaches such heights of sexism and profanity. (And this from a guy who is trying to convince voters that he’s a straight-laced family man.) Ford, for his part, denies that he was talking about Pagliaro.
no, no, he wasn’t referring to Jennifer Pagliaro … he was talking about a DIFFERENT little b*tch. Since Doug never lies or misleads, ever, we should take his words at face value.
Besides … b*tches gotta learn! Am I right, fellas? *raises hand for high fives*
What Doug doesn’t realise is that he said it in front of cameramen and other media who generally hold microphones in their hands. There is no denying what he said. Just like there turned out to be an actual video that started his brother’s spiral out of control. No one will forget this merely days before this election.
Unfortunately every person who remembers it is a person who was already going to vote against him. Something this tiny certainly isn’t going to sway a Ford supporter away if none of the other stuff has.
It would have been funnier if it was a male reporter.
If DoFo apologised it would have the same veracity as the 1,001 apologies issued by RoFo over the years. A serial liar, DoFo wouldn’t know the truth if he fell over it. Time for NoFo.
Doug Ford, not crass enough for me. (sarcasm font)
