QUOTED: Doug Ford promises to be even more outspoken on his next radio show (if that’s possible)
The fireworks are going to start….The gloves are coming off.
—Councillor, radio host and mayoral big brother Doug Ford, on what to expect when he and Rob resume their radio show this Sunday after taking a break for the summer. Doug vowed yesterday to go after the reporters who have accused the mayor of using taxpayer-funded staff and resources for the football team he coaches, and by the sound of those metaphors, Doug’s not going to hold back. That said, last season on the weekly show, the Fords managed to trash-talk the city’s medical officer, do a little illegal campaigning and insult the Polish community—how much further can they really go? i am sure rob ford deducted the 4 hours from his paycheck. if he wants to coach football, maybe he should leave politics
If Doug Ford wants to hire ex Canadian University Football players and have the city of Toronto pay for it then he should be allowed to. Who else is going to hire these guys? The CFL isn’t hiring them. People got to eat.
The Fords can have a weekly backyard bbq at their mom’s house for those who want to eat….or maybe..just maybe the ex school players can open up a garbage collection company and the city can privatize out to them….
The Fraud twins continue to dig their political graves just that bit deeper every time they open their mouths. Its disingenuous for them to whine about media persecution for antics that they would have been the first to criticize had they been done by anyone else (especially anyone else deemed left of centre).
What’s that saying – “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt”?
Since Rob wants to kick the homeless (about 35±) out of Nathan Phillips Square (City Hall for the newbies), he should set them up in his mom’s backyard. They can even get food and something to drink. I understand they have the capacity.
Today’s news made it clear that all of the Ford’s political calculations have to do with keeping their base happy. No one else matters. There’s no bridge building, crossing the aisle or compromise with these guys. Just listen to their radio show. No councillors who aren’t their parrots. No phone calls from critics. Frankly, aside from the odd gaffe, it’s a boring, sanitized show.
Their radio show is nothing more than free political advertising. Now that Rob has declared that the race for mayor is on, (despite the rules), they should have to account for the two hours of free air time that Astral radio provides them every week.
Why don’t we ask their good friends at “newstalk1010” to bill the boys for what is advertsing disguised as —- well, disguised as–(insert initials here)
