Doug Ford told the Sun that he’s very, very disappointed by John Tory’s decision not to attend a $300-a-ticket fundraiser, the proceeds of which will help retire about $900,000 in Ford-for-mayor-related campaign debt. It’s not uncommon for mayoral competitors to raise money for one another after an election is over (in fact, Tory is doing exactly that for David Soknacki), but the Fords have remained openly hostile toward Tory during the first few months of his mayoralty, which makes Doug’s complaint a little puzzling. “Mr. Tory doesn’t want to help, but that’s his choice….I don’t know what his problem is, to be honest with you,” Ford told reporters. Didn’t Ford claim throughout his campaign that he wasn’t worried about his campaign costs and if need be he’d cover them himself?

Does anyone think it is a coincidence that Rob Ford was standing over Ahmed Siyad moments after he was shot 3 times in a garage in Etobicoke last Tuesday March 17 at 3:15 in the afternoon? Ford said “It was bad” and that the victim wouldn’t say anything but was coherent.
Ahmed Siyad is the brother of Liban Siyad, the jailed gang member who made a video of the Mayor smoking crack. Ford’s friend and employee Sandro Lisi is heard threatening Liban on a police wire-tap: “You’re f—ing dead and everyone on your block is dead.” Well, Liban’s brother survived, and isn’t it nice that Rob was there to comfort him.

Ford doesn’t understand someone not actually liking him or his brother? Is he that much in the dark? That is a rhetorical question. There is no reason in the world for Tory or anyone else to help pick up this huge deficit it should be paid for by the millionaire Fords. Pretty soon Rob will want free drugs.

Rob Ford once said he doesn’t believe in socialized medicine, but he doesn’t seem to have a problem with it now. If he beats cancer, he’ll be back to being against it.

Mayor Tory explains why he won’t help Doug. “Anybody thinking for just a moment about the prospect of my going out and raising money which would finance, in effect quite directly, the running of ads that called into question my character, my integrity and so on, must think I fell off some sort of turnip truck pulling into downtown Toronto.”
It also should be remembered that Mr Tory had a fund raiser for Rob Ford after the 2010 election….some people have short memories.
True, but it should also be remembered that Tory wasn’t a candidate at that time, and therefore had no bone to pick with the Fords. A bit different set of circumstances, no?
I think all things Doug Ford can be summed up in the line “Doug Ford is peeved.”
Rob Ford= “I don’t get this guy. I insult him, attack him, denigrate him, do my evil best to humiliate, harass and hound him, yet when I need help he isn’t there for me! The guy’s got no decency!”
