Doug Ford comes up with a way to force Rob Ford into accepting a driver

Sure, Rob Ford ought not to have been reading on the Gardiner, but he also had the bad luck to do it during a very slow news week, meaning his latest vehicular no-no has been endlessly picked over. And the mayor got no sympathy from his brother Doug, who has instead actively egged on reporters, saying that Rob “needs a driver” and that he’d consider going over Rob’s head and asking city council to approve the extra cost. (Other options would be to have the mayor’s current aides drive him around or trying to squeeze money for the driver out of the mayor’s office budget.) We imagine Rob’s not too pleased at his brother’s public insistence on a chauffeur (although the co-mayors brothers seem to have brushed off their previous spats without too much bad blood). [Globe and Mail]
