We suspect this news cut right to the core of Rob Ford’s heart (in a way that nutrition programs for needy children never could): earlier this week, the Toronto Star highlighted the mayor’s losses in a city council football pool. The paper reports that Ford’s pool mates—councillors Joe Mihevc, John Filion and Josh Colle—have beaten him for three weeks running. Apparently, Mihevc makes his picks based on important factors like how many vowels a team has in their name, while we assume Ford applied his encyclopedic knowledge of the gridiron game to making more deliberate choices.
