For years, we’ve watched with envy as stateside reality shows presented their respective cities to the world stage—Salt Lake City, Potomac, Seaside Heights and one notorious West Hollywood alley have been put on the map by their extravagant and over-the-top reality stars. We did have The Real Housewives of Toronto and The Real Housewives of Vancouver for far too brief a time, but they didn’t quite give us the uninhibited mess we yearn for.
Well folks, it is time for the Governor General to print off some new Order of Canada pins, because ten hot new bombshells have entered the villa. And by villa we mean a cottage in Kelowna where MTV’s new Canada Shore program takes place.
With casting announced today, Canada Shore is being sold as Canada’s answer to MTV’s popular Jersey Shore series. A Paramount Plus media release describes the group as “roommates who are ready to party, flirt harder and turn every night into memories—and maybe a little mayhem.”

It won’t all be standing in a line and taking vodka shots off a ski, though the teaser does feature a disco ball and someone riding a mechanical bull in leather shorts. “Beneath the chaos is a crew that laughs together, fights together and somehow becomes a family,” promises the release. Beautiful. Say no more.
Who will emerge as our proud nation’s Snooki and J-Woww? We hope the standout stars will include one of the show’s GTA cast members. There’s Ethan from Newmarket, who the release says is “ready to party hard and leave his mark,” and Christopher from Toronto, who is “ready to open up, make real connections and prove that behind the wild nights, there’s a lot of heart—with a dash of drama.”
Gizelle from Mississauga is “self-described as crazy, sexy and cool,” and Bauer, originally from Saskatchewan and now based in Toronto, put his lacrosse dreams aside to be on the show. He’s “a self-proclaimed ‘golden retriever’ with abs and attitude.”
Lila from Toronto also sounds like a fun time. Per the release: “Known for her oversized hoops, iconic one-liners and a laugh you can hear three rooms away, this Italian firecracker lives by the motto, ‘It’s shot o’clock somewhere.’”
The city should play this on a big-screen in a public square when it premieres in January.
