Mayor Rob Ford’s latest critic: former mayor Art Eggleton

Rob Ford’s recent claim that council’s will on transit planning is “irrelevant” has attracted the ire of former mayor Art Eggleton, who sums up his criticism of Ford in the Globe thusly: “This is no way to run a city.” In addition to joining the chorus of those calling for the city to shut up and get its light rail built already, Eggleton also takes on Ford’s claim that he was elected with a mandate to build subways, writing that “most voted for him as a reaction to the ways of the former council, not because they supported every last detail in his platform, [which] he follows only when convenient.” Hell hath no fury like an ex-mayor, it seems. Read the entire story [Globe and Mail] »
