To update you on yesterday afternoon’s post, council passedHoward Moscoe’s Tit-for-Tat taxi bylaw forbidding Mississauga taxis frompicking up fares in Toronto, with one hiccup: the city won’t enforce it for30 days. That means everyone—Toronto, Mississauga, their respective taxiindustries, and the Greater Toronto Airports Authority—has 30 days tonegotiate a settlement.
Pray that they do. The only solution that makes sense here is a regionalone, where Toronto and Mississauga taxis are free to operate within oneanother’s city limits, but common sense rarely prevails in this industry.
