Instead of fixing 311, Rob Ford’s allies blame underperforming city workers

Mayor Rob Fords allies didn’t take long to start using city hall’s 311 phone service as a political tool. The National Post reports that Peter Milczyn believes the chronic absenteeism that supposedly plagues 311 is indicative of the city’s soft approach to lazy employees. The 24-hour service has been criticized since an audit revealed around 20 per cent of calls go unanswered. We’ve already said that improving 311 could be an opportunity for Ford to deliver on his campaign promise of improved customer service.
