Market realities continue to ruin all of Doug Ford’s waterfront fun

Carnival-loving Torontonians probably won’t be riding a Ferris wheel anytime soon—at least not until long after we get tired of making jokes at Doug Ford’s expense. The good folks over at Spacing Toronto argue that it will take a century—that’s right, 100 years—to fully develop the Port Lands. The problem is that “the market (yes!) can only deliver and then absorb so much new construction activity.” Of course, while that argument rings true, it’s not half as much fun as a boat that takes you right to your hotel—so the Brothers Ford will probably just ignore it. Read the entire story [Spacing] »
