Overheard on the red carpet at Friday’s eTalk party

• Jian Ghomeshi told us his favourite P. Diddy song is “Every Breath You Take.” When we asked for his least favourite P. Diddy song, he said, “Well, he’s not for everybody.” We think both those answers are cop-outs. • Marilyn Denis told us her favourite radio interview was Sting. And not because she had a crush on him or anything, but because he had a lot of interesting things to say. Yeah, and we like Colin Farrell because he has a great personality.• Everyone in So You Think You Can Dance Canada judge Tre Armstrong’s family is a good dancer. Save for one cousin. Maybe. Wait, no. He’s pretty good, too. • Sophia Bush told us the movie she’s most looking forward to is New York, I Love You, because she loves the slice-of-life aspect of it. She couldn’t think of her favourite segment of the film’s lovely counterpart, Paris, je t’aime, but she owns the DVD.• Kardinal Offishall doesn’t need a publicist. The Toronto rapper holds nothing back when it comes to self-promotion. “My new record’s coming out September 9, so check it out, yo!” We must also note he was the best dressed and best looking on the red carpet. (Sorry, DSquared.)• Designers DSquared have no problem telling you what to wear: “Higher, higher!” they shouted when a TV reporter asked what they thought of her vintage red heels.—Melita Kuburas
