Raptors Record Watch: Raps lose lucky number 13
The Toronto Raptors continued their race to the bottom last night with a lopsided 100-87 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. The defeat marks the squad’s 13th straight loss and further entrenches them at the bottom of the standings, only three spots out the NBA basement. The Raps have dropped 13 consecutive contests twice before in team history—most recently in 2002—and are four short of the club record set in late 1997. But the team will have its work cut out for it if it wants to slide below the last-place Cleveland Cavaliers (who are in the midst of an impressive losing streak of their own) and increase its odds of landing the top pick in next year’s draft.
