Shopper freaks out as Eaton Centre closes during G20 protests
No doubt about it, the G20 inconvenienced a lot of people. Subways closed, roads were blocked, store windows were smashed, and shops had to be closed. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone who wasn’t ticked off this weekend, but none (save for the black bloc rioters perhaps) seemed as mad as this guy. Demanding to get into the Eaton Centre, he screams at security guards, asking, “Why, why, why are you closed?” He goes on for minutes, but our favourite moment comes when he hollers in vain, “We are the Toronto public! We want to shop!” Strange, we always try to get out of the Eaton Centre as quickly as possible.

Who let these people into my city? I thought education was mandatory to 14 years old. First it’s the Montreal Black Bloc, then it’s Crazy Alberta Harry here.
The person with the camera held it together… ya gotta be careful when you respond to the crazies, tho, they don’t really respond to logic… hence, the craziness.
With all the things happening over the weekend, if the only thing in your mind is shopping, then you are a real addict. Seriously, this is ridiculous!
Isn’t it obvious this man is freaked out by what is happening in his city? The reference to police cutting off your balls is a good indication of that. And like the zombies in Dawn of the Dead, he’s grasping for the one constant in his life that still seems to exist: shopping. I understand why everyone finds this funny — I’ve been laughing for the past day — but c’mon, he’s not psycho for the mall, he’s in denial.
the video has been removed but if it is the one of the looney pounding on the glass door of the Eaton Centre … OMG is this man getting his 15 minutes or what???
this is just a typical personality the poor sales people have to contend with on a daily basis and likely wish they could lock them out every day
You’d be surprised at the reactions of people. I work as a security guard and have been freaked out on for many things that are completely beyond my control (ie. Elevators not working, snow removal activities etc.) The best one I had was a guy who came into the building and asked for the 25th floor. When I pointed out to him that we only had 20 floors, he flew into a rage and demanded to know what we did with it. It was all I could do to not make a very sarcastic comment to the guy. He stormed out and fortunately, I never saw him again.
This is still SO funny
